Jane Byrne Interchange East to North Ramp

  • Project Details

The scope of work for this $40 million contract calls for replacing an existing ramp and bridge structure that connects Interstate 290 to northbound Interstate 90/94. The project team’s precise preconstruction planning, close monitoring of the schedule, and frequent communication among all relevant parties played a crucial role in completing the new ramp 37 days ahead of schedule. Our subsidiary, Judlau Contracting, executed the contract.

As a result of the proximity to residential and commercial properties, Robotic Settlement Monitoring of surrounding buildings was required while certain construction activities were performed. Major scope items included the construction of five retaining walls, placement of deep soil retention systems, and drilling of shafts, piles, and micropiles.

Judlau was presented with the Urban Improvement Award from the Illinois Department of Transportation for its diligent and transformative work on this project.
