Small Diameter Water Main Replacement 9a

  • Home
  • Projects
  • Project Details

Located in Washington, DC, the Small Diameter Water Main Replacement project was an integral part of DC Water’s larger water main rehabilitation program that repairs pipe that has exceeded its useful service life, to reduce water main breaks and improve available fire flows. As directed by the EPA and the Clean Water Act, the $8 million project aimed to improve water quality and reduce the potential for the creation of naturally occurring activities that can impair the quality of potable water. Judlau Contracting, an OHLA USA subsidiary, replaced over five miles of cast iron water main, which was originally installed between 1880 and 1940, and installed approximately 650 service connections.
