OHL NA is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $17 million project to build a new elementary school in the greater Orlando area for Orange County Public Schools (OCPS), the ninth largest school district in the United States and the fourth largest in Florida. The new school will accommodate more than 800 students and is OHL’s first project for OCPS.

“We are excited to work with OCPS to deliver this new school that will serve students for generations,” said Bernardo Perez, EVP of OHL Building. “This project represents our continued expansion in the Central Florida region and our commitment to the K-12 education market.”

The project consists of the reuse of a multi-story prototype elementary school on a new 14.8-acre site.  The school building will have approximately 88,500 gross square feet and include: classrooms, skills/resource labs, art, music, administration, kitchen, dining/multi-purpose room, media center, and support spaces. Additionally, the general scope items within the site package include: new parking areas, parent loop, bus loop, play amenities, exterior walkways and canopies, underground utilities, storm water drainage system, landscaping, irrigation, and site lighting. Exterior components of the project include: construction of new Physical Education (PE) pavilion, PE Office, toilets, PE storage and outdoor PE amenities such as multi-purpose fields, hard courts and playgrounds.

OCPS serves more than 207,000 students at 191 schools and is the second largest employer in Central Florida with about 24,000 team members.
