MIAMI, FL – September 23, 2025 – OHLA USA, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of global infrastructure group OHLA, has been awarded two projects in Florida, reinforcing its strong presence in the state’s infrastructure sector.

The first, awarded by Miami-Dade County, engages OHLA USA to deliver Phase I services for the North Bulkhead Berths 1–6 Realignment Program at the Port of Miami. This critical infrastructure initiative will be executed using a Phased Design-Build approach, promoting collaboration, efficiency, and high-quality outcomes. The comprehensive program encompasses the design and reconstruction of approximately 7,200 feet (2.2 kilometers) of an expanded cruise berthing facility, with a total estimated investment of more than $450 million. Once completed, the project will enhance the port’s long-term operations and support its continued growth as a global cruise hub.

In addition, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has awarded OHLA USA a $100.6 million contract to provide construction contracting services in Broward and Palm Beach Counties for the addition of a lane on the Turnpike Mainline (SR 91) in both directions, from the Sawgrass Expressway to Glades Road. OHLA will self-perform milling and asphalt paving and execute major scopes of work, including drainage, noise walls, and intelligent transportation systems infrastructure. The OHLA-led team is also responsible for installing guardrails, signage, and electronic structures, along with painting, electrical work, and landscaping.

These new projects build on OHLA USA’s growing portfolio of major infrastructure initiatives in Florida, including the $235.8 million FDOT award in Palm Beach County to expand a seven-mile segment of the Turnpike Mainline (S.R. 91) between Southern Boulevard and Okeechobee Boulevard. The contract, which was awarded to the company earlier this year, will widen the roadway from four to eight lanes, introduce toll lanes, and replace four concrete bridges. It also includes interchange modifications and the installation of multiple support structures designed to improve traffic flow and enhance overall turnpike operations.

These milestones come during a period of significant expansion for OHLA in the United States, where its project backlog has reached record levels. As outlined in its Strategic Plan, OHLA has designated the U.S. market as a key driver of future revenue growth and a cornerstone of its global strategy.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of OHLA USA’s operations in the United States. Over the past two decades, the company has earned a reputation for excellence in construction and civil engineering, serving both public and private sector clients. Headquartered in New York City, OHLA USA delivers a wide range of projects, including residential and healthcare facilities, K–12 and higher education buildings, transit systems, highway upgrades, bridges, tunnels, and water infrastructure.

Notable projects include the Purple Line Light Rail Project in Maryland, ADA upgrades at 13 subway stations in New York City, I-5 Freeway improvements in California, the South Dade Bus TransitWay in Florida, Ruggles Station Improvements in Massachusetts, and numerous transportation infrastructure initiatives for state and local agencies in Illinois.
