OHLA Secures Over $350 Million in Major Contracts in Florida and California
EAST ELMHURST, NY – September 10, 2024 – OHLA, through its subsidiaries OHLA Building and OHLA USA, has been awarded more than $350 million in new contracts, further solidifying the company's reputation for delivering comprehensive and innovative construction solutions to both new and long-standing clients.
OHLA Building has secured a $228 million design-build contract for the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation (MDCR) Master Plan Replacement Jail Site 1 Training and Treatment Center. This pivotal project will support MDCR’s mission to enhance its facilities, providing an environment that fosters dignity, respect, and strong connections to families, legal resources, education, and healthcare services. The scope includes the design and construction of multiple state-of-the-art facilities: a three-story Booking and Release Center with four courtrooms and dormitory-style holding cells, a four-story headquarters housing MDCR’s administrative offices, and an adjacent column-free warehouse. The project also features reconfigured site infrastructure, including illuminated asphalt lots and a 500-vehicle parking garage, as well as a central energy plant equipped with advanced electrical and mechanical systems.
In San Diego, OHLA USA has been awarded a $123 million contract for the construction of the Alvarado 2nd Pipeline Extension. This critical infrastructure project will enhance the City of San Diego’s ability to provide reliable and sustainable water service to 1.4 million residents. The project involves the installation of approximately 10 miles of new 24-inch and 48-inch transmission mains in the Mission Valley and Mission Bay areas, connecting to the existing Alvarado Pipeline and the recently completed Pacific Beach Pipeline. By extending and replacing aging water pipelines, OHLA USA will play a key role in improving water distribution throughout San Diego, with a focus on efficient delivery to coastal communities.
These awards highlight OHLA’s commitment to delivering high-quality construction and infrastructure projects that meet the evolving needs of the communities they serve.
