The OHL Group has been awarded the contract to restore the Cortlandt Street subway station in New York, in the central area of the World Trade Center. It had been destroyed in the 9/11 attacks (11th of September 2001) and thanks to this work its activity on the New York subway network will be resumed.

The budget for the contract totals 68.3 million euros (89 million dollars) and it will be completed entirely by Judlau Contracting, a New York subsidiary of OHL USA, for the New York and New Jersey Port Authority, the administration which is running this project.

The main activities planned for this project include the demolition of concrete and metal structures, the construction of a the new concrete and steel structure, the reconstruction of the station's platform, the installation of the track, signaling equipment, lighting, communications and ventilation in the tunnel, finishing work on the station and the provision of stairways and elevators to access it.

In the World Trade Center numerous projects are currently being carried out by various construction companies, so coordinating with them will be a vital aspect of Judlau's planning for the execution of its project.
